We are looking for members of our Los Alamitos community to join our PTA Executive Board for 2026-27 school year! More details about specific positions will be shared soon, but if you’re interested in getting involved, please email us or connect with any of our current board members.

Serving on the PTA Executive Board offers a behind-the-scenes look at how our fundraising efforts work and provides a direct way to support and strengthen our school community. 

Our board is full of working parents so we are mindful of time restraints and hold meetings one evening per month.

Our two dances were a huge success! A big thank-you to our amazing mom volunteers who helped set everything up and to our dad volunteers who handled breakdown at the end of the night. It truly looked like everyone had a wonderful time.

These dances are some of our most special events - giving girls and boys the opportunity to enjoy meaningful one-on-one time with their grown-ups.

Many of our lead volunteers this year were 5th-grade parents who will be moving on from Los Alamitos next year. As we plan ahead, we are looking for lead volunteers for the 2026–27 school year to help lead our dances. These events do require planning, including booking the DJ nearly a year in advance.

The perk? If you choose to be a lead volunteer, you get to pick the dates, choose the theme, and truly work the planning around your schedule.

If you are interested in serving as a lead dance volunteer next year, please let us know. Without volunteers, we unfortunately won’t be able to continue hosting these dances.

Thank you to F45 Branham Park for hosting such a fun Galentine’s Night Out for our Los Alamitos moms. The workout was fantastic- high-energy, well-coached, and the perfect way to kick off the night! We had an amazing time and really appreciate you!

(Entries due by February 23, 2026)  Los Alamitos PTA is inviting all Los Alamitos 5th graders to enter their drawings in our Yearbook cover contest. 2 winners will be selected to be displayed on the front and back cover, by the Yearbook committee panel.
Submit art on:

• 8.5 X 11 sheet of white paper

• Use the paper vertically

All entries must include:

• Theme: Under the Sea

• The words “Los Alamitos”

• School Year: 2025-2026

Tips for good entry:

• Not a lot of white space- lots of color (including background)

• Mix up your medium (crayons, watercolors, markers, oil pastels etc)

• Use up the whole sheet of paper (the bigger the better)

• Do not put your name/grade/teacher on the drawing

  • Stage Hands - to assist performers
  • Concession Organizer - to coordinate snacks and sales
• In addition, we are also looking for a volunteer who can provide a digital keyboard for the event.

Castillero PTA is looking for incoming 6th grade parents to serve on the board. Castillero PTA funds and/ or runs events and programs like school dances, carnival, spirit wear, teacher and staff appreciation, and teacher grants. The Reading Lab is a tutoring program for students who would benefit from extra help with fundamental reading skills. 

We are looking for volunteers who can come in once per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday) from 12:45pm - 2:00pm during the school year. Training for new tutors is provided!! Helping these new & growing readers is super fun and rewarding!  

***Volunteers must be registered with the district and approved by Los Alamitos.***
