The Los Alamitos PTA is a non-profit volunteer organization that supports Los Alamitos Elementary School. Our PTA's goal is provide vital programs, supplies, financial support, and promote a collaborative relationship between parents, teachers, and administrators.

Announcements

School Dances!

Get excited!! The theme of this year's dances is: Denim and Diamonds! So bust out your best denim, bling, and/or western attire and dance the night away!

Father/Daughter Dance: Friday, February 6th, 6-8 PM in the cafeteria

Mother/Son Dance: Saturday, February 7th, 6-8 PM in the cafeteria

If a father or mother is unavailable, girls or boys are welcome to attend with any special adult guest.

The tickets are $20 per guest and must be bought in advance on the PTA website. No tickets will be sold at the door. Light snacks and refreshments will be available. This event is for Los Alamitos students only.

***We are in need of a volunteer to put together a little special something for our 5th grade boys- it can be anything! Previous years it's been a crown or a small corsage- just something fun and special for them to take home!***

5th grade parents- as your child’s final dance at Los Alamitos approaches, we know it’s a bittersweet moment. What began as family social dance nights will soon turn into dancing with friends... and before you know it, prom will be here.

To celebrate our 5th graders, we’re creating a special photo wall just for them. If you’d like your child included in this surprise, please bring a photo of:

• Your child at their first dance at Los Alamitos,

• Your child dancing when they were younger.

Photo sizes can be anywhere from 4x6 to 8x10 (nothing bigger)

Please drop off photos at the front office by February 3rd.

The photo wall will be displayed during both dances.

Galentine's Night Out at F45 Branham Park!

45 minutes of strength training work out followed by bubbles

Each F45 workout is a unique program that incorporates cardio, resistance- based strength training, or a hybrid of both, all geared toward everyday life. No two workouts are the same, keeping members challenged and having fun. All of the F45 coaches are certified personal trainers who have the skills to safely modify each movement to any member’s individual needs. Our goal is to help you become your fittest, strongest and healthiest self!

This is a free event on 2/12 with a maximum of 30 people, so sign up now!

Family Fun Night- Five Guys!

When: February 12th-13th 2026

Where: Five Guys, 5353 Almaden Expy

Mention Los Alamitos and 25% of proceeds will be donated to the PTA!!

Yearbook Cover Contest (5th Graders Only)

(Entries due by February 23, 2026) Los Alamitos PTA is inviting all Los Alamitos 5th graders to enter their drawings in our Yearbook cover contest. 2 winners will be selected to be displayed on the front and back cover, by the Yearbook committee panel.

Submit art on:

• 8.5 X 11 sheet of white paper

• Use the paper vertically

All entries must include:

• Theme: Under the Sea

• The words “Los Alamitos”

• School Year: 2025-2026

Tips for good entry:

• Not a lot of white space- lots of color (including background)

• Mix up your medium (crayons, watercolors, markers, oil pastels etc)

• Use up the whole sheet of paper (the bigger the better)

• Do not put your name/grade/teacher on the drawing

Variety Show – Volunteers & Important Info

We’re gearing up for our upcoming Variety Show on Friday, March 20th and need parent volunteers to help make it a success!
Volunteer opportunities include:
- Stage Hands - to assist performers
- Concession Organizer - to coordinate snacks and sales
In addition, we are also looking for a volunteer who can provide a digital keyboard for the event.

Reading Lab Volunteers Needed!

The Reading Lab is a tutoring program for students who would benefit from extra help with fundamental reading skills.

We are looking for volunteers who can come in once per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday) from 12:45pm - 2:00pm during the school year. Training for new tutors is provided!! Helping these new & growing readers is super fun and rewarding!

***Volunteers must be registered with the district and approved by Los Alamitos.***

It’s that time of year!

Order your 2025–26 Yearbook today and save all the memories.

Last day to order: 4/20 — but don’t wait until the last minute! We won’t have extras on hand if you forget to order.

5th grade parents — start gathering those adorable baby photos for the 5th Grade Baby Pages! They are due by March 1st! Please send them to your classroom parent yearbook rep and include your child's full name with the photo.
