Hicklebee's Book Fair! PLEASE VOLUNTEER!

The Hicklebee’s Book Fair is coming to Los Alamitos this week!! Every spring, our PTA is thrilled to host a second book fair to promote summer reading. This year, we’re delighted to continue our partnership with our local children’s bookstore, Hicklebee’s, who will generously provide the books for our fair.

Date: Tuesday to Thursday, March 24th to 26th

Time: 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM

Location: Library

We’re excited to have a special Family Night on Tuesday, March 24th, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

**Yearbook Update**

Order your 2025–26 Yearbook today and save all the memories.

Last day to order: 4/20 — but don’t wait until the last minute! We won’t have extras on hand if you forget to order.

5th grade parents — start gathering those adorable baby photos for the 5th Grade Baby Pages! They are due by March 31st! Please send them to your classroom parent yearbook rep and include your child's full name with the photo.

A Note From Our President

I want to apologize for the link that was included in last week’s email. Our goal was to send out information to encourage our community to educate themselves about the school board re-zoning decisions and not to endorse. I am grateful for our entire school community and do not want to send out anything that divides our community - I hope we only build each other up and show kindness, despite any changes in the next school year. Nowruz (Iranian New Year) Staff Luncheon

Thank you to our Iranian community for hosting a wonderful luncheon for the Los Alamitos staff in celebration of the Nowruz.We truly appreciate you sharing your delicious traditional dishes and beautiful culture with us. Wishing everyone a joyful and Happy Nowruz!

About Nowruz:

Nowruz, meaning “new day,” marks the Persian New Year and the first day of spring. Celebrated for over 3,000 years, it symbolizes renewal, hope, and new beginnings. Families gather to enjoy special foods, set a traditional “Haft-Seen” table, and spend time with loved ones to welcome the year ahead.

Math Kangaroo

Thank you to Harini for hosting our very first Math Kangaroo test at Los Alamitos. The event was a wonderful success, and we truly appreciate the time, effort, and care you put into making it such a smooth and positive experience for everyone involved.

With 54 students participating, it was inspiring to see our community come together to embrace a global competition that promotes problem-solving and critical thinking in such a fun and engaging way.

Results will be available in May, and parents will be able to log in to their child’s account to view them.

Variety Show

Thank you to Sara Buxton for organizing and leading the Variety Show and for all the time and effort that went into making it such a special event!! Thank you as well to the volunteers who helped behind the scenes and to the many students who shared their talents on stage. It was a wonderful celebration of creativity, courage, and school spirit!

Reading Lab Volunteers Needed!

The Reading Lab is a tutoring program for students who would benefit from extra help with fundamental reading skills.

We are looking for volunteers who can come in once per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday) from 12:45pm - 2:00pm during the school year. Training for new tutors is provided!! Helping these new & growing readers is super fun and rewarding!

***Volunteers must be registered with the district and approved by Los Alamitos.***
