Scouting for Food – Support Our Community!

Boy Scout Troop 281 is once again participating in Scouting for Food, a community service project helping local families in need.

You can help by donating non-perishable food items in the bins located at the school entrance. Scouts will be checking the bins daily until Friday, November 14th.

Suggested Donations Include:

  • Canned goods (tuna, chicken, fruit, vegetables, soups, or chili)

  • Spaghetti or ravioli

  • Peanut butter

  • Cereal, snack bars, or Pop-Tarts

  • Pancake or muffin mixes, crackers, or cookies

  • Instant soup, rice, beans, or pasta

  • Powdered juice or milk

Please no frozen food, open containers, or glass jars.

This is a wonderful opportunity to show generosity and community spirit—especially as the holidays approach. Our Arrow of Light (AOL) den is also working on their Citizenship Adventure through this project, learning the importance of service and leadership.

Thank you for helping make a difference!

Green Team

Green Team will be starting soon! For planning purposes, we would like to see how many students are interested in joining.

We will be focusing on learning how we can take care of the environment so it can take care of us. At this point, students will meet once a month during their lunch recess.

If your student is interested in joining Green Team, please fill out this interest survey. If you have more than one student, please fill out a separate form for each student. This is just an interest survey - a separate sign-up, with more details, will be sent out at a later time. Thanks!

The PTA would like to thank Lisa Aiken and Sarah Fischer for running the Green Team this year! They have been doing an amazing job so far- especially beautifying TK Land!

New Los Alamitos Mural!

A beautiful new piece of art has been added to our campus!

The tree symbolizes the growth nurtured by our teachers, while the heart represents the kindness and love our students show each day. The flower reminds us to see the beauty in our land, and the lion stands for the courage it takes to be your very best.

From afar, you’ll notice a subtle “50,” and up close for Los Alamitos 50th anniversary last year, you’ll find the names of all our amazing students from the 2024–2025 school year - the true heart of this masterpiece.

This artwork came to life through the efforts of many hands. Special thanks to James Edmondson for his inspiring design, and to Laura Jackson, Sogol Jacks, Grace deLottinville, Marte Abrahamsen, and Bara Sanderson for bringing it all together. Their dedication since May 2025 made this vision a reality.

Health Office Wish List

Our Health Office could use a little extra love! If you’d like to help stock up on much-needed supplies, please consider donating an item from the Health Office Wishlist. Every contribution helps keep our students healthy and cared for!
